Pregnancy and Postpartum

Preparing for and having a newborn can be a total life adjustment. Everything might have gone differently than you expected, the birthing process, your plan, or baby’s health. Sometimes, scary thoughts can creep up or you may feel alone. Even the thought of talking to someone sounds frightening.

No one should have to experience that alone. I am here to sit with you in the muck and give you a few tools to help when things feel beyond overwhelming.

Prior to opening my own practice, I worked in the NICU, supporting families throughout their stay. I also experienced my own children’s births that did not go according to plan. These experiences have informed my practice and passion to support both birthing parent and birth partner.

Couples

It can be hard not feeling heard, feeling that things are one-sided. Things feel like they’ve shifted and it isn’t what it used to be. Maybe things have been going on for so long, nothing has changed, and counseling is the last straw.

I love to help couples re-establish communication and navigate fighting. I give couples tools to help rebuild the relationship from the ground up, a start-over if you will.

I use Gottman Method Techniques to inform the way I support each couple. I have found their concrete tools are easy to understand and have seen couples experience success.

Pre-Teens/Teens

This can be a challenging time in life. Things are constantly changing, whether it be friend groups, bodies, HORMONES. It can be a stressful and confusing time, maybe uncomfortable. You might be asking- is this just me?

It may feel easier to talk to someone outside of your bubble about what is going on. I can help you with some strategies to work through relationships (family, friends, partners), stress, anxiety, and depression.

I like to find out what you are interested in and see if we can use that in therapy. Folks find that using things they enjoy in a therapeutic way tend to make things feel a little better.
